At the annual Global Technology Awards, a high-caliber jury of experts honored companies that had successfully demonstrated progress and creativity within the technology sector. Comet Group was presented with two Global Technology Awards 2017 at this year’s productronica in Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for electronics development and production.
New CT system with exciting dual tube configuration
The technology company secured its first award in the “Inspection – X-Ray” category. The new FF35 CT system from Yxlon won over both the jury and the professional audience alike. “The system is available in a single or dual tube configuration and is ideal for inspecting very small to medium-sized components in car and aircraft manufacturing, electronics and materials science,” explained Dr. André Beerlink, Sales Manager Science and New Materials at Yxlon. A further decisive advantage of the precise CT system is the dual tube configuration, which enables two X-ray tubes to be adjusted separately at the touch of a button – a feature that makes the FF35 CT extremely versatile. The intuitive system is controlled via two touch screens with easy-to-understand icons.
Lab One: three core technologies under one roof
Besides the award for the FF35 CT system, Comet Group also won an award in the Test Services category for its new technology and application center “Lab One” in San José. The three core technologies of COMET Group have been brought together under one roof for the very first time: Lab One offers all its customers a wide range of testing and inspection services in the area of X-ray, high-frequency and ebeam technology. Lab One also provides users of the lab with access to a number of testing services as well as the opportunity to work together with industry experts at Comet Group.
Collective ideas, new solutions
Paul Smith, Senior Vice President at Comet Technologies USA and General Manager of Lab One, is also extremely delighted with the award. “Innovation cycles are becoming increasingly shorter today, which means that factors such as speed and agility are becoming more and more important. Lab One enables local businesses to save time, as inspection services will be available within close proximity of their company’s site in future.” One thing for Paul Smith is clear: “In future, Lab One will be a place where new solutions are developed out of collective ideas – ultimately resulting in business success.”
