COMET planning short-time working in the Plasma Control Technologies product area
Due to weak demand from the semi-conductor industry since the start of the third quarter of 2011, COMET AG is planning to introduce short-time working in the Plasma Control Technologies product area in Flamatt from October 1, 2011.
This short-time working will only affect the Plasma Control Technologies Operations product area in Flamatt, which employs around 50 staff. There are not currently any plans to extend this short-time working to any other product areas or locations.
“The workload of Plasma Control Technologies has fallen since the beginning of the third quarter and we do not currently see any improvement,” says Michael Kammerer, Head of Plasma Control Technologies. "Given this situation, short-time working is an appropriate temporary measure to carry us through the weak order situation and enable us to retain the employees in the affected area. We will continue to prioritize the flexible use of working time instruments as a means of cushioning the effects of the reduced workload."
