Heinz Kundert

Heinz Kundert served as CEO of the VAT Group from 2015 to 2018, which he transformed from a family owned company into a stock-listed industrial group. His carrier started in various management positions in Europe and Asia for Oerlikon-Buehrle, Balzers & Leybold. Later he became CEO of Unaxis, a global supplier of Thin Films Equipment and Critical High-Vacuum Components. Heinz Kundert also served over 10 years as Vice President of SEMI International, the global semiconductor industry association headquartered in USA. Currently, he is Vice Chairman of the VAT Group, Board Member of Variosystems AG in Switzerland and Advisory Board Member of the Fraunhofer Microelectronic Society in Germany. He holds certificates in mechanical engineering, industry management (ITA) and marketing management from FAH at the University of St. Gallen. Heinz Kundert has a successful track record of more than 20 years of senior management in the global semiconductor and related industries and experience in the successful implementation of corporate strategies that deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

Michael Kammerer

Michael Kammerer has been with the COMET Group as Vacuum Capacitors Head of Supply Chain Management and Production since January 2008 and was appointed to President of PCT (former Vacuum Capacitors) in September 2008. He was previously employed at well-known companies in the metal and automotive industries, most recently for Saia-Burgess AG/Johnson Electric as head of Purchasing and Supplier Quality Assurance.

Eric Dubuis

Dr. Eric Dubuis has been with the COMET Group as Chief Information Officer since October 2005. His prior career included management positions in software development at well-known companies such as Ascom Switzerland, Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies in New Jersey, USA, and Xebeo Communications, New Jersey.

Stephan Haferl

President Industrial X-Ray Modules
Born 1972, Swiss and Norwegian citizen; Master's degree in mechanical and process engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, PhD with work on thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.

Stephan Haferl has been working for the Comet Group successfully in various management positions since 2007. His strong track record includes proven performance in business development, innovation, technology, and product management, among other areas.
Before, he held the positions of General Manager at Bartec-Meta Physics SA and Chief Operating Officer at Bartec Bacab SA.

Thomas Wenzel

President X-Ray Systems
Born 1965, German citizen, information scientist (University Erlangen, D) PhD in materials science and materials engineering (University of Saarland, D)

Dr. Thomas Wenzel has an exceptional knowledge of the relevant x-ray systems markets and applications and 15 years of management experience at the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Erlangen, Germany, at last as Head of Department Process-Integrated Test Systems.

From 2015 to 2018, Thomas Wenzel served as Technology Scout and Senior CT Expert for the Comet Group and played an important role in the further development of the X-ray systems business as interim Head of Research and Development before being appointed President in December 2018.

Beat Malacarne

CFO ad interim
Born 1962, Swiss citizen, certified public accountant

Beat Malacarne has extensive international management experience in finance, serving for many years as CFO at companies such as the former Kaba Group in Rümlang, SBB Cargo AG in Zurich and at subsidiaries of Holcim Group ACC Ltd in Mumbai and Siam City Cement Public Company Ltd in Bangkok. In his last role before joining Comet Group Beat Malacarne was Chief Integration Officer at dormakaba, where he was responsible for the integration of the merged companies Dorma and Kaba.
