René Lenggenhager

Chief Executive Officer
Born 1960; Swiss and Italien citizen; electro engineer HTL, PhD in physics from ETH Zurich and an Executive MBA from University of St. Gallen

Dr. René Lenggenhager started his career as an R&D engineer and later as head of R&D at Landis&Gyr AG in Zug (Switzerland), followed thereafter by Cerberus AG and Siemens Building Technologies in Männedorf (Switzerland). From 2000 to 2015 he was a senior manager at Mettler-Toledo AG in Greifensee (Switzerland), where he lead the Global Business Area “Laboratory Weighing Technologies” as its general manager. Since 2015 he functions as general manager for the Bruker BioSpin Group in Fällanden/Karlsruhe/Boston.

Markus Portmann

Chief Financial Officer
Born 1959; Swiss citizen; Betriebsökonom FH degree in economics, HWV Berne; Controller SIB; Executive MBA, University of Rochester, NY

Markus Portmann joined COMET in 2004 as CFO. From 2001 to 2004 he was CFO and vice president of Ascom's Enterprise Communication Division and Aastra PBX. From 1990 to 2001 he held various managerial positions at Fenaco, the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation and Der Bund Verlag AG, ultimately as CFO and head of Management Services.

Charles Flükiger

President ebeam Technologies
Born 1960; Swiss citizen; Ingenieur FH engineering degree, Bern; Executive MBA (University of St. Gallen)

Charles Flükiger joined COMET in 1980; he is member of the Executive Committee since 1989.
Until 1996, he held various leadership positions in production and worked as Head of Technology (production and R&D) from 1996 to 2000. From 2002 to 2015, Charles Flükiger has been President of the Industrial X-Ray segment before he took over the new established ebeam Technologies segment in 2016.

Michael Kammerer

President Plasma Control Technologies
Born 1961; Swiss citizen; MBA in Strategy and Procurement Management, University of Birmingham, UK

Michael Kammerer has been with the COMET Group as Vacuum Capacitors Head of Supply Chain Management and Production since January 2008 and was appointed to President of PCT (former Vacuum Capacitors) in September 2008. He was previously employed at well-known companies in the metal and automotive industries, most recently for Saia-Burgess AG/Johnson Electric as head of Purchasing and Supplier Quality Assurance.

Eric Dubuis

Chief Information Officer
Born 1964; Swiss citizen; Dr. phil. nat. doctorate in computer science, University of Berne; MBA, University of Rochester, NY

Dr. Eric Dubuis has been with the COMET Group as Chief Information Officer since October 2005. His prior career included management positions in software development at well-known companies such as Ascom Switzerland, Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies in New Jersey, USA, and Xebeo Communications, New Jersey.

Detlef Steck

President X-Ray Systems
Born 1965, Swiss and German citizen; PhD in industrial engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, master's degrees in electrical engineering from ETH and in business from the University of St. Gallen

Detlef Steck has held various leadership positions since 1997 at the ABB group, including positions as global business unit manager. For the last three years he was head of ABB's Discrete Automation & Motion division for the Central Europe region.

Thomas Polzer

Chief Operating Officer
Born 1965, German citizen; Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Duale Hochschule Baden Württemberg), MBA in Corporate Management (University of Augsburg)

Thomas Polzer has been CEO of Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH, a subsidiary of Carl Zeiss AG, an international technology group in the optics and optoelectronics industries, since 2008. In his earlier positions for Carl Zeiss and for Dutch company ASML at locations in Germany, the USA and the Netherlands, he gained many years of experience relating to the supply chain and production and technology development in an international environment.

Prisca Hafner

Chief Human Resources Officer (from January 8, 2018 on)
Born 1967, Swiss citizen; Diploma in Banking and Certified Advanced Studies in Human Resources Management and Executive Coaching of Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).

Prisca Hafner has been responsible for global HR management within various segments of the Swiss Oerlikon Group. Prior to this, she gained valuable experience working as a consultant and in various HR management positions at Credit Suisse Asset Management in Zurich, Luxembourg and London.
