COMET Group announces CEO change for May 2017

Ronald Fehlmann will leave COMET Group by the end of April 2017. Dr. René Lenggenhager appointed as new CEO of COMET Group as of May 2017.

As part of its long-term succession planning, the board of directors is very pleased to announce a CEO change at COMET Group as per May 1, 2017. Ronald Fehlmann, who has successfully led the COMET Group for more than 6 years, has decided to leave the company to seek other professional opportunities. “The board of directors thanks Ronald Fehlmann for his long-term commitment to the COMET Group. He very successfully led the company since the end of 2010 through a challenging time. The strategy that Ronald Fehlmann and his team implemented led not only to an impressive value creation for shareholders, but also prepared the company very well for its future”, says Hans Hess, chairman of the board of directors of COMET Holding AG. Ronald Fehlmann adds: “The past 6 years at the helm of COMET Group were a very fascinating time for me. I am glad to hand over the leadership at a good time.” Ronald Fehlmann will continue to lead COMET Group as its CEO until the end of April 2017.

The board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. René Lenggenhager as new CEO of COMET Group per May 1, 2017. Dr. René Lenggenhager is a Swiss national and holds a degree in physics (Dr. sc. nat.) from the ETH Zürich and an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen. He started his career as an R&D engineer and later as head of R&D at Landis&Gyr AG in Zug (Switzerland), followed thereafter by Cerberus AG and Siemens Building Technologies in Männedorf (Switzerland). From 2000 to 2015 he was a senior manager at Mettler-Toledo AG in Greifensee (Switzerland). There, he first led the R&D department, and since 2004 the Global Business Area “Laboratory Weighing Technologies”, as its general manager. Since 2015 he functions as general manager for the Bruker BioSpin Group, the largest Group of the der US-European Bruker-Group, with around USD 550 Mio. in turnover and around 2000 employees worldwide. "We are very happy that we were able to win René Lenggenhager as the new CEO of COMET Group. He is very familiar with global businesses in the area of high-tech components and systems and has demonstrated an impressive track record as a general manager, successfully executing international growth strategies", says Hans Hess.

This CEO change has no influence on the Strategy 2020 of COMET Group and the short- and medium-term financial targets that were communicated at the Investor Day on November 23, 2016
