Market leader thanks to cutting-edge technology
“Technology with Passion” – the COMET Group’s tagline is embodied by our inspired and highly trained people. Our teams are intensely passionate about conducting research into new applications and novel products and developing completely new technologies. The results enable the Group to consistently assert and demonstrate its status as technology leader across its entire portfolio. Our continuous investment in research and development ensures a sustained high rate of innovation.
Vacuum technology – for a long life
An ultra-high vacuum is essential for manufacturing long-lasting and high-quality vacuum capacitors, x-ray tubes and e-beam emitters. The better the vacuum, the better insulated the high voltage and the better the performance of the high-vacuum products.
High-voltage and high-frequency technology – for maximum performance
High-voltage technology is COMET’s core competency. It encompasses everything that is required for the creation, maintenance and secure handling of high voltage. High-frequency technology is an important basis for the design of high-frequency components such as vacuum capacitors. It involves achieving high performance in terms of voltage and power in an extremely small space.
The right materials science and processing – for a reliable vacuum
The choice and treatment of materials is crucial for creating and maintaining a vacuum. Only with the right high-quality, pure materials and expert processing is it possible to manufacture powerful vacuum capacitors, x-ray and e-beam sources.
Image processing technology – for sharper images
Under the YXLON brand (x-ray systems), the COMET Group uses conventional x-ray technology combined with innovative image processing to create products perfectly tailored to customer requirements. With its highly dynamic radioscopy (HDR), YXLON has revolutionized x-ray inspection systems. HDR can be used to inspect areas of an object with different thicknesses in real time without constantly having to adjust the x-ray parameters. Automatic fault detection makes fully automatic inspection a reality – for example, in high-volume production of tires. And with our microfocus technology, extremely fine detail such as the structure of a memory chip becomes viewable in brilliant resolution.
Computed tomography – for 3D insight
Computed tomography affords a three-dimensional view inside solid objects, making it invaluable for many inspection tasks, such as materials analysis, comparative analysis and much more.
